The MATA Story

MATA was established in 2015 by our CEO, Mr F. Zavahir (MBCHB, MRCS, MSC), who has been responsible for designing MATA’s qualifications and has played a crucial role in the creation of our Level 7 Diploma in Facial Aesthetics.

A plastic surgeon with over 25 years of experience, Mr Zavahir first established Juvea Aesthetics, a high-end clinic on London’s prestigious Harley Street, in 2008; with the vision of providing a highly personalised client journey where the patients’ goals were the main focus, delivering desired results whilst placing an emphasis on safety and care.

Although Juvea Aesthetics thrived, it became apparent to Mr Zavahir that there was a real need for higher standards to be established within the UK’s aesthetics industry. This realisation led to his pioneering MATA, with the main purpose of raising industry standards.

With this goal in mind, MATA designed the Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Facial Aesthetics to create a robust programme inclusive of theory and practical training that introduces qualification standardisation in the UK. This allows the practitioner themselves to feel confident in practicing aesthetics; as well as ensuring clients feel comfortable in the knowledge that they are visiting a fully qualified aesthetic injector who will carry out a safe procedure with the skills and training to manage any complications which may arise.

MATA’s training quickly proved a popular choice for medical professionals in the UK, expanding across over 5 major cities throughout the country and attracting delegates from across the world. This success showed us the need to make our training more accessible to global markets, and we are proud to now be operating our training courses in Australia, Canada, Ireland, India, and New Zealand, alongside the United Kingdom, with more to come in the near future.
